She has a BS in Biology from the University of Miami. Jeanette is also a 16 time Ironman distance triathlon finisher, including the 2009 World Championship.
Anthony Cann, PhD

Dr. Cann has over twelve years of experience in strain improvement with expertise in microbial metabolism. Anthony has conducted several successful technology transfers around the globe, from test tube to large scale fermentations. He earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from UCLA, a BS in Chemical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, and he co-authored several patent applications in the fields of strain development and biochemical production.
Chief Innovation Officer and Co-Founder
Derik is a microbiologist and fermentation specialist with over seven years industrial experience. He is very versatile in the multidisciplinary environment of a startup; having contributed to biomass pre-treatment, microbiology, and scale-up fermentation R&D areas within the cleantech industry. Derik holds a BS in Cell & Developmental Biology from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Maya Kuttan, Esq.
Chief Counsel and Media Specialist
Maya has over seven years of experience as an attorney and ten years as a media specialist. She has provided regulatory counseling, enforcement, litigation support and rulemaking for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and municipalities, agencies, and nonprofits. She earned a JD from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law and a BA from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. Maya has garnered awards for her films and legal work.
